Why did I wear such drab clothes?

Why did I wear such drab clothes?

Here’s an old photo of me from back in 1999 (when I was 21). I think it’s sad because I was so young but I hid behind ugly clothes when I could’ve experimented. No amount of Navy Blue or Black could’ve saved me. I should’ve just…. Anyway, I’m glad I love colours now.

I left Singapore for the US of A in 2013 and now live in Las Vegas with my indie game dev husband and our son Gummi Gumdrop. I am also probably much older than you think I am.

  1. You looked like me when I was that age, short hair and all. I was told I couldn’t dress in certain clothes because it made me look fat… lol. Now I know better.

  2. I feel your pain too – I was much the same as both of you:( Everyone telling you that you can’t wear anything nice because you’re “bigger”. I read an article recently that said that the number one mistake that larger ladies make is wearing baggy clothes – as they make you look even bigger! If only I knew back then!

  3. You must know that you look FAR DIFFERENT from this now.

  4. Got halo behind you!

  5. Hi there,

I have only starting following your blog recently. As a plus size myself, I really love your style. This old picture of yours is really a proof that its never too late too be pretty. =) As a saying goes, there’s no ugly woman, only lazy woman.

Thanks for all the sharing =)

  6. I love that you love colors now too cause you look so pretty in them! I think this is one of the aspects I most enjoy about your fashion style–your ability to wear these fantabulous colors and look like a million bucks in your cute outfits!

    • Thank you Bella. You’re so encouraging. I don’t think I’m fashionable, I think I just stopped thinking and went with what I felt was right. That’ the secret, innit?

  7. I have no words… Well… Don’t be sorry about the past… Now you look great!
