To market, to market… to buy a fat pig… Except not. I’m vegetarian. I’m pig-friendly these days. But yes, this is what I typically wear when I do my grocery runs. Either shorts or leggings – depending on the weather. And either a t-shirt or a tank-top. I typically go to the supermarket about once every 7 to 10 days ALONE because T says his feet aches when he walks for too long on flat ground (as opposed to undulating terrain like when we’re hiking). Just as well, because I like to take my time and go round the aisles twice in case I miss out on a good deal. So yeah, this is my Housewife of Las Vegas ensemble. HAHAHA!

What I’m wearing today:

Top: Grey TENNIS band t-shirt

Outerwear: Dark grey cardigan from LURVE HANDLES

Accessories: Natural bamboo weave bangle from ISLAND SHOP; Pink Skipping Girl brooch from ETSY; Brown slim ribbon belt from LURVE HANDLES

Bottoms: Light blue cuffed denim shorts from OLD NAVY

Footwear: Brown heeled clogs from OLD NAVY

Oh BTW, check out LURVE HANDLES, a new PLUS SIZE Online Store based in Singapore – don’t worry, they ship internationally too. They stock sizes from UK14-20 and prices range from S$12.50 for basics to S$45 maximum for dresses – that’s really decent right?

The grey cardigan fits really well across my shoulders (17″ across) even though the sleeves are a little long for me (because I have short limbs in general). My shoulders are actually a lot broader than my hips and I’m an inverted triangle so the length of the cardigan is great for hiding my weird proportions. The belt however was too big for me. It’s a little over 53″ long and the first hole is at 44.5″ so if you’re a UK16 like me, you’d probably need to add more holes to get it to fit right.

Whad’ya know? It’s Friday, Friday, Friday!! I’m so excited for the weekend to come. There are plans and there are plans! Happy Mothers’ Day in advance too!

As an aside to today’s outfit post, I want to talk about my plans for next weekend! I’m really excited about Flipside – 17 to 26 May 2013! Flipside is a family-friendly, all-ages festival that is held at Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay. Think of it as part carnival, part comedy festival, all fun! There are ticketed performances as well as lots of FREE ones! There are also other complementary activities if you’re not interested in watching a show.

I last caught The Kransky Sisters (Australia) when they were here in 2008. OMG! So hilarious! I highly recommend a girls’ night out for this show. Tickets are only $35 from SISTIC! I’ll be going to the one on 18 May at 3pm!! Also on 17 May at 7.30pm, The Sharpe Brothers (USA) will be performing comedic acrobatic stunts for free at the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre. Won’t miss that one! The kiddies would love it too! The other show that I’d have like to catch (if I was here) would be Technodelic Visual Show by SIRO-A (Japan). They’re like Asia’s answer to The Blue Man Group. Tickets are also $35 from SISTIC – pity I’ll be in Las Vegas that weekend. If you go, let me know what you think okay?

Speaking of Flipside, I’ve been taking photos with the anamorphic artworks! (You can see more on their facebook page HERE!)

I seriously think this dress is too long and I should chop off about 2 inches. What do you think?

Outfit of the day... stripey!

Outfit of the day... stripey!

I don't know what I'm doing

A close-up of my fancy nails & accessories!

A close-up of my fancy nails & accessories!

What I’m wearing today:

Top: Black & white stripey top with 3/4 sleeves from eBay (2nd hand, possibly New Look)

Bottoms:  Black 3/4 flat-front capris from ZARA

Accessories: Black calculator watch from CASIO; Custom hand-hammered necklace with sterling silver 925 disc from http://www.etsy.com/shop/klacustomcreations and Carpe Diem white acrylic brooch from http://www.etsy.com/shop/UntamedMenagerie

Footwear: Taupe ballet flats from JONES BOOTMAKER

Hmmm… this top is a little weird. This is a horrible way to wear it. YUCKS! It’s too baggy and tent-like. It makes me look very shapeless! Any ideas on what I should pair this with?

There was a period of time when I was growing up where I’d only wear black & white, no other colours. In my silly young mind, I had this idea that black&white was high-tech… I liked computers and gadgets even as a child but I have no idea how I came to associate black & white clothes with technology.

Oooh yes, my nail polish are courtesy of my colleague Christel who bought this 4-piece SUMMER NAILS collection from H&M, while on a trip to the US. So fun right?

First work outfit for 2010. This is a dress I bought more than 6 months ago but never got round to fixing the back zipper that refuses to unzip more than an inch. I found a way around that problem – I pulled it over my head real hard & fast. HAHAHAHA!!!
