IMG_8158So it’s officially Fall and it’s getting colder. I’m glad because Vegas can be really super hot and Summer has been unbearable. I’ve never had to endure the full length of a Vegas summer (previously I was here only for a week) but now that I have, I’m so glad to layer up! I’ll never complain about the cold again!!!

This jacket was first featured in a post I did while I was in Seattle with T (for PAX Prime). Because I didn’t take pictures of the gorgeous embroidery behind this time around, you can click on that previous post to see what it looks like. I like that it looks like a generic utility jacket and this mossy green is perfect for hiding stains… HAHAHA!IMG_8159What I’m wearing today:

Top: Black t-shirt from Singapore thrash metal band Ossuary (yes, I literally only wear band t-shirts.)

Outerwear: Green unlined utility jacket with white skull embroidery from ZANZEA_MODE on eBay

Acccessories: Black flower barrette from ASOS

Bottom: Grey knit mini skirt from COTTON ON

Footwear: Dark beige moto boots from MADDEN GIRL

IMG_7953Today’s outfit is more about the accessories than anything else. I got this necklace in the mail a few days ago from my dear dear friend Ryddy (along with chopsticks, another pin and a lovely birthday card). And because I love it so much, I’m going to wear it for the next few days – it’s kitschy but it’s so versatile with my wardrobe!

It’s one of those days, you know? I always believe that even if you’re in a bad mood or have no mood for life at all, you still need to make effort to look decent. This is me trying to make it happen even though I just want to be in bed all day and do nothing.

Outerwear: Black long cardigan from COTTON ON

Accessories: Pink and purple flower hair barrettes (recent purchase, comes as a set of 2) from H&M

OMG! Can we talk about these sandals or slides or slippers or whatever you call them? They are super comfy! The band across is soft and stretchy. The height of the platform is super easy to walk in. And I got them at TJ MAXX for only $15 on clearance! I googled and found out that STEVEN by STEVE MADDEN is their more “mature” and “comfortable” yet still trendy range of footwear. I imagine them to be more trendy Scholls but honestly, some of their other designs are not so feet friendly – less support and quite stiff. Anyway… THESE sandals have officially put me at my age! WA HAHAHAHA!

What I’m wearing today:

Dress: Paint daub splatter dress from FAITH21 (former name of FOREVER21 PLUS)

Accessories: Gold spikes and matte black skulls necklace from AYLISS DESIGN on eBay

Outerwear: Black batwing cardigan from COTTON ON

Footwear: Black platform sandals from STEVEN BY STEVE MADDEN

This is one of those dresses I hardly wear because I never brought it back to Singapore. I ordered it online and it got sent to Las Vegas sitting here for a month or so until I visited T (this was before we were married). I wore it once during a holiday here then I went back to Singapore for months, leaving it behind. Then I came back again and wore it another one time before the weather turned and it was too cold to wear again until now… hahaha… Poor neglected dress.

What I’m wearing today:

Dress: Mint green sleeveless dress from DELIA*S

Outerwear: Black batwing cardigan from COTTON ON

Accessories: Grey Chinese knot necklace from 2014happy5866 on eBay; Beige & neon pink stretchy belt from H&M

Bag: Purple polka-dotted clutch from WISHFUL THINKING on etsy.com

Footwear: Purple sparkly ballet flats from STEVE MADDEN

IMG_5967You would be forgiven for thinking that I must be crazy for wearing a cardigan in the middle of Summer, especially since I live in the desert. Here’s the thing though – it might not look like it, but it’s a really light cardigan worn to the brink of death! It’s pilling and shows its age upclose. I bought this in Singapore and if you can imagine tropical humidity and heat, this cardigan is actually quite breathable. I love it! So glad I brought it here with me when I returned in April to pick up my stuff.

What I’m wearing today:

Top: Black/White polka dot top from UNIQLO x Lulu Guinness

Outerwear: Black batwing open cardigan from COTTON ON

Accessories: Black pleather belt with silver buckle from H&M; Red jewel flower statement necklace from MYBEAD88 on eBay

Bag: Red leather tote from KATE SPADE

Bottom: Light blue cuffed denim shorts from OLD NAVY

Footwear: Black strappy peeptoe heels from KIMCHI BLUE (Urban Outfitters)

I put this on in a hurry 2 days ago when we had the sudden hankering for some noms at the Cheesecake Factory. T’s mum sent us an email to tell us that she was going to spend the birthday gift card we gave her on a low-calorie meal there with Grammy and it put the idea in our heads. So in 20 minutes, I grabbed an outfit and cleaned-up my face!

What I wore on Sunday:

Top: Orange frilly top with blue stars from TOPSHOP

Outerwear: Blue denim jacket from HIGH SIERRA

Accessories: Mint Green and silver multi-strand necklace from ACCESSORIZE

Bottom: Grey knit mini skirt from COTTON ON

Footwear: Black wedge pumps from ZIPIA

T’s step-mum gave me the denim jacket when we visited for Thanksgiving last year. I’d like to think it is from the 80s and has some cred but I don’t know for sure.

So anyway, the Cheesecake Factory does indeed have low-carb options – EVEN FOR VEGETARIANS! It is called the Skinnylicious menu and despite the fact that I hate amalgamated words like “bootylicious” or “retrolicious”, it is actually quite a good menu. While most items are “skinny”, it is only relative to their main menu. I’d definitely go back and order the same thing I did though. Between the 2 of us, we had a serving of Edamame, a Veggie Burger, Roasted Pear & Blue Cheese Flatbread and the Tiramisu Cheesecake (not diet-friendly but my husband convinces me that it’s a lot lower in calories than a Tiramisu). As you can tell, OMNOMNOMonsters struggle everyday but we always give ourselves breaks for trying. Will we ever be thin? Nope. Not a chance but who cares.
