Hey everyone! HAPPY FRIDAY! And with today’s post I’d like to tell you about PINK DOT (see my outfit) which is happening tomorrow.

Pink Dot Sg is a non-profit movement started by a group of individuals who care deeply about the place that LGBT Singaporeans call home. It is a group for everyone, straight and gay, who support the belief that everyone deserves the freedom to love. With openess and acceptance, we hope to bring LGBT Singaporeans closer to their family and friends.

Support of the LGBT community is so important to me that one of the first questions I asked T was what his views were. To him, it was a strange question because he doesn’t see why they are even considered different or why anyone wouldn’t support them. In fact, when we talked about if we had gay children what he would do, he said he would send them for karate lessons so that they can protect themselves from bullies. How awesome is that?

More than half my closest friends are gay and really, your sexual orientation is really your own private preference. I don’t care who you love as long as they love you back. If not I’ll punch them in the face for you if they hurt you.

So if you’re in Singapore tomorrow 29th June 2013, go down to Hong Lim Park at 5pm dressed in Pink!

What I’m wearing today (PINK DOTS of course!):

Dress: Green with Pink dots custom tailored copy frock

Accessories: White acrylic cloud earrings (gift from my boss Jobina); Gold weave belt from H&M; Pink fabric hair bow from ZIPIA; Pink acrylic Jumping Rope Girl brooch from LA CANICA on etsy.com

Footwear: Brown hidden wedge pumps from ZIPIA

Thanks Ryddy for the snaps!

Do you like today’s tights? They are sooooo super comfortable and I can’t wait to pair it up with a ton of other outfits! I just received them in the mail last week from the kind people at WE LOVE COLORS and I now have a total of 3 pairs from 3 different ranges. (See last Friday’s outfit post.) This pair is from their Plus Sized Black Striped range and I love them because a) there’s a very strong gusset b) they have an extra panel where the belly is so it’ll stretch well over round ones like mine c) they’re the exact colour I’ve been looking for. At USD12, these tights are worth every penny.

I wear leggings/tights/stockings a lot and I’ve probably worn my first pair of WE LOVE COLORS tights to death – except that it’s still in very good condition and waaaaaay off from dying. Most people handwash their delicates and hosiery but I’m too lazy to do so. I use laundry nets and bag them before they all get dumped into the washing machine. I don’t even separate the colours from the whites – I know I should and some day I will… eventually. Maybe. T caught me doing laundry once and was quite shocked that I don’t bother keeping the whites separate. I’m lucky in that I buy good stuff that don’t run.

Anyway, the point is, these WE LOVE COLORS tights seem to be colour-fast and I haven’t had any problems with them. They’re hardy yet soft. Opaque and stretchy. Just to prove another point, Sian Eng was touching and tugging at my tights after she took today’s photos – that’s how impressed she was!

On another note… 10 more days till I get to see T! I’m so excited! w00t!

What I’m wearing today:

Dress: Custom made copy dress (fabric from SPOTLIGHT Garden collection)

Accessories: Pink frosted cookie brooch from TwinkieChan on etsy.com

Leggings: Neon Pink/Black Striped tights from WE LOVE COLORS

Footwear: Mustard Yellow Mary Janes from Zipia.net

I’m wearing another copy dress today. Yes, it’s copy of the SOHOMODE tea dresses I own several of. I wouldn’t recommend it because a) it might hurt your favourite indie crafters b) it wouldn’t be as good as the original. However, I did it because I bought this super cute fabric at Spotlight and it has been sitting in my closet for more than a year, and I really didn’t know what I should do with it until someone suggested I copy one of my existing dresses. (Actually, I have a lot more fabric that I bought on a whim and I haven’t quite had time to use them yet. Eeeks!)

Initially, I was torn between sending 3metres of this material (quite heavy textile) to New York or getting it tailored here. My tailor is JUST NICE at Roxy Square and they did a fantastic job (with some minor readjusting). They tried capturing all the details and it looks great on. I’d highly recommend them if you need any alterations or tailoring done in Singapore. To be honest though, nothing beats the original, so my next tea dress is gonna be another SOHOMODE original (which is being custom designed right now).

JUST NICE is located at 50 East Coast Road, #02-97, Roxy Square, Singapore 428769. I’ve had at least 8 alterations done with them and 2 dresses tailored. This tea dress costs me S$130 – S$30 for 3m of fabric and S$100 for tailoring. Which is only slightly less than my SOHOMODE original. (However if I had sent the fabric over to New York, it’d cost a lot more than if I bought an original SOHOMODE dress. You know shipping rates are crazy these days…)

What I’m wearing today:

Dress: Copy dress (fabric from SPOTLIGHT)

Accessories: Bronze eyeglass necklace (gift from Mylene and Jon Fong)

Footwear: Brown hidden wedge pumps from ZIPIA

This is a quick one. It’s getting late and I’m tired. Just got home from watching OCTOPUS by Compagnie DCA. A sensual, energetic dance production choreographed by French choreographer Philippe Decouflé, with pulsating live music accompaniment.

I need a little ranty tanty because I sat next to 3 really immature students (they mentioned they got cheap tickets with their student discounts) who kept whispering to each other and giggling at inappropriate moments. They looked like they were about 20 – give or take 2-3 years, so I don’t understand why they couldn’t shut up. The one right next to me tried copying some movements at the start – luckily she stopped after a while or I’d have reached over and grabbed her arm to stop her. (Hello! Personal space, please) I really hope they weren’t dance students because they ought to know it’s very disrespectful to be acting so childishly when people are performing. There’s female top frontal nudity and a part where a video showed a close-up of some tongues, and they gasped, giggled and made stupid comments.

PLAIN ANNOYING! Totally spoilt my enjoyment of the show. Stupid behaviour like that and flash photography – pet peeves when watching live performances. You agree?

Anyway, rant over. Here’s what I wore today.

Photos courtesy of Mrs K who thought I should document this outfit even though I thought it was only so-so (Love the unicorn rainbow print but I really don’t think this cut is for me… HOW?!)

What I’m wearing today:

Dress: Custom Unicorn print dress from CandiedStarfish on etsy

Skirt: Peach Meringue petticoat from Domino Dollhouse

Accessories: White vintage necklace from eBay; Pink plastic heart ring from SIXX ACCESSORIES

Footwear: Nude patent leather flatforns from ZIPIA

It’s 444! Not a good number for the Chinese but I hope it doesn’t mean anything.

Wow! Been weeks since I last updated. I do want to be more consistent and post at least 2-3 times a week. I’ve been doing tons lately. Work has been so exciting and I haven’t had a breather yet. I’ll save those updates for later but I must say I’m looking forward to a 2 week long holiday. I’ll technically be in Singapore half the time but time away from the office is a holiday right? Also, T will be here in just over 30 hours! We will be going to Kuala Lumpur, Batam and Bangkok!

Anyway… This was supposed to be a quick outfit post. So here’s me wearing one of my favourite dresses yet AGAIN. I have like 5 variations of this now I think!

What I’m wearing today:

Dress: Floral pink custom tea dress from SOHOMODE

Accessories: Floral necklace from ACCESSORIZE

Footwear: Blush pink wedge heels from ZIPIA
