Another day in the life of a housewife living in the Mojave desert. I wore this to go pick up pizza and do errands at the Dollar Store!
Anyway, to beat the summer heat – more t-shirts and more shorts! I got these Old Navy shorts recently when they went on sale at $8 (originally $22.94) and like my cuffed denim shorts, they are a LIFE SAVER! I think the cuffs actually make them more “polished” if I can use that word to describe it. More, you know… dressy and less sloppy? What do you think?
What I’m wearing today:
Top: Grey TENNIS band tee
Accessories: Brown pleather belt from STEVE MADDEN; Set of 4 bangles from PRIMARK, Black bow headband with skull & crossbones from FOREVER21
We’re roadtripping again! T and I are driving to LA today! That’s Los Angeles, not Louisiana. He’s showcasing Axiom Verge at E3 and I get to hang out with my pals! The event is a 3-day affair but he has business to attend to so we’re in LA earlier. This was supposed to be a much longer trip with us going to England for a wedding after E3 ends next Thursday but you know, life throws curveballs at us every so often and it’s no longer feasible for us to do that… Ah well…
Anyway, it’s so awesomely awesome that we found a doggy sitter for Max through dogvacay.com – when we were in LA with him the last time we stayed in a doggie-friendly hotel and brought him to a nice lady on dogvacay.com who took care of him in the day while we were out. Since this is a work trip and T has been provided with accommodation near the conference venue, we decided that Max should stay in Las Vegas with someone. We set up a play date earlier and he got along really well with the dog sitter’s Black Lab – same breed!
So anyway, I’ve packed with me 4 HELL BUNNY dresses and 2 t-shirts for this trip. If I’m not wearing any of those dresses, it’ll be this pair of denim shorts. Perfect for summer!
And this post was inspired by Curves and Chaos writing about a bohemian-inspired outfit. It is rather different from what I usually wear but it’s also not everyday that I go on a roadtrip! If you’re going to be driving for hours, you should always dress comfortably right?
I got this months ago but never got around to photographing myself wearing it. My dear dear friend Ryddy sent me a huge care package from Singapore with this dress he bought in the UK. It was my colour and kitschy and everything all at once – which made it difficult for me to style it. I didn’t want to be a 36-year old schoolgirl-wannabe and I definitely needed to be comfortable in it. So this is what went down…
What I’m wearing today:
Dress: Neon Pink and White striped dungaree dress from TOPSHOP
I’m doing my happy jig here because we just came back from the doctor and I don’t have to go back for another 3 months. My diabetes is in check and my blood glucose is in a safe, controlled range!
What I’m wearing today:
Dress: Grey and Blue striped 3/4 sleeve dress from OLD NAVY
Accessories: Neon Green string earrings from FOREVER21; Pink/Polka dotted knot necklace from AMI THE VINTAGIST
I wore this on Friday when T and I went to the new X-Men movie at Town Square. He was disappointed when I didn’t think it was my favourite of all the X-Men movies. It’s definitely the best one out yet but I haven’t yet decided which is my favourite because there are so many factors to consider you know!
On a related note, this H&M tank dress, I also bought at Town Square. It’s possibly my favourite place to go for everything I need (except groceries). My sisters and I went on a crazy post-holiday sale shopping spree when they were here and I got this dress for only USD5!
What I’m wearing:
Dress: Grey tank dress with neon prints from H&M
Outerwear: Black batwing cardigan from COTTON ON
Accessories: Lilac acrylic statement necklace from TALISMAN’S (at Far East Plaza); Black floral barrette from FOREVER21
I am going to stop calling myself Plus-Sized here because I feel more of an in-betweenie in the US. In Singapore and the UK, I’m clearly considered PLUS because I’m usually at least a UK16. I go into the local Plus Sized shops here in the US and everything too long and too big. I’m not deluding myself because I’m still fat – I’m definitely not slim or fit. I’m a little chunkier than chubby but maybe just average here (I seem to fit well into a US12). It doesn’t change my style. I still wear whatever I want, regardless of what the labels tell me.
Hello it’s Wednesday… Sorry, I forgot I wanted to do What The Frock Wednesdaysagain. HAH!
Thanks to the kind people at WE LOVE COLORS, I am in love with my brand new Plus Sized Splash Color Tights! I was looking for something blue and not quite galaxy print because I’ve already got 2 pairs in the footless style. This is colour #2132. size A/B. For reference, I’m a UK16/18 and I’m 5′ 0″ (or 1.53m). The tights are a little too long and comes up to just under my boobs but this happens to me all the time because I’m Plus Petite. As with the other WE LOVE COLORS stockings, this has a very strong built-in gusset – which is very important to me as most hosiery manufacturers seem to neglect it. The crotch gusset reduces the stress caused by tugging when you pull them up, so the tights lasts longer and doesn’t rip. Who wants crotchless stockings??? At the same time, I feel that it eliminates the gross camel-toe effect.
Anyway, thank you Sian Eng again for today’s photos.
