Hello! It’s a good Tuesday because the skies are clearer than before. We have been having relatively good weather and last weekend was a heart-attack waiting to happen – but thankfully everything at work went as planned and I slept well last night after a super long 3-days on my feet. Let’s hope the weather stays clear at least until the end of the week because I really need my pet project to happen. I’ve been working on it for a year long and it’s gonna be so awesome if the weather permits! BEST SUMMER FESTIVAL OF 2013 because I say so!!

Anyway, here’s the last dress sponsored by FLOW and the purple zebra print is quite different from what I usually wear. I like Maxi dresses and many long dresses look like maxis on me. I’m 5′ 0″ and I actually had to alter this dress to wear it. I had the local tailor snip off 3″ and it’s still sweeping the floor. This works best if you’re at least 5′ 5″ I reckon. Otherwise, it’s a great fit. I love the v-neck and the comfortable short sleeves. Also the super soft and stretchy jersey is really cooling. I was half-expecting the fabric to cling onto my lumps but surprise, surprise… NOPE! It just hangs and literally flows.

What I’m wearing today:

Dress: Purple abstract print jersey long dress from FLOW

Accessories: Lilac acrylic statement necklace from TALISMAN’S (at Far East Plaza)

Footwear: Nude platform heels from FromTheHeel on eBay

Today in evacuee-fashion. Sorry, I kid. Anyway I read on Facebook that if you don’t make at least 1 haze joke, you’re not Singaporean. I find it really strange how Indonesian forest fires (the ones deliberately caused by unscrupulous cost-saving corporations) are treated as a part of life here. I overheard some people commenting how the haze “came earlier this year”.

Seriously though last night was really bad, the skies have been a weird colour since PSI levels hit 321 (hazardous). I believe visibility is not beyond 1km. The air smells acrid and I’ve been feeling sick ever since. Lucky for me, my company issued us N95 masks from 3M. These masks are really comfortable compared to the other flat paper types I’ve worn in the past. The mask forms a cup around your mouth and nose and there is a metal strip around the nose area for you to form-fit, hence forming a tighter seal (not completely air-tight though). You can still move your lips and the mask does not press down on your nose or mouth.

Anyway, haze or not, a cardigan is good to have. This is a piece called Jersey Waterfall Cardigan sponsored by FLOW and while it’s described as Teal, even my colleagues tell me it looks green. If you’ve ever had double-headed colour pencils, this is the green directly opposite the chrome yellow. Again, I’m not sure why my iPhone is not capturing the colour that I see.

Other than that, the supposed long sleeves are not. They are more 3/4 sleeves and if you’re regular height (i.e. 1.60m upwards) you will find it a little too short. Other than that, it is as described – a generous fit. I love it. It’s so soft and comfortable! Cardigans are great for transitioning in strange weather conditions – hot outdoors, cold air-conditioning indoors. Or when travelling – too cold airplanes, too hot climates? I love cardigans for layering as it can immediately jazz up a plain boring outfit and the waterfall side panels (shorter at the back), does lend some interesting detail.

What I’m wearing today:

Top: Grey HELLO KITTY tank top from FAITH21 (former Forever21)

Outerwear: Teal Jersey Waterfall Cardigan by FLOW

Accessories: Black dangling earrings from thestreetsofTaipei; Black weave faux leather belt from thestreetsofBangkok

Bottom: Grey jeans from DOROTHY PERKINS

Footwear: Black ASHIKA SCOOPED BALLET flats from ROCKPORT

Most people did a double-take. Yes it’s that same dress from yesterday. I have however dressed it up differently than yesterday and I think that with the right accessorizing, it makes a world of a difference!

This is the Twisted Front & Back Dress sponsored by the nice people at FLOW. I’ve received many compliments in this dress. People think I look dressier than usual and some pointed out that it’s very flattering. (I reckon it’s the twisty bits disguising my lumps.)

The colour description says it’s BLUE but really, it look like a teal green in person. My camera doesn’t seem to capture it and it does turn out rather blue. I’m a little puzzled about this. Nonetheless, a great colour!

What I’m wearing today:

Dress: Teal Twisted Front & Back Dress by FLOW

Accessories: Gold triangle plate earrings from GOGO PHILIP; Gold shell buckle belt from FRENCH CONNECTION

Footwear: Brown hidden wedge heels from ZIPIA
