It’s officially FALL!!! (I need to say that more often because I find it weird to say Fall instead of Autumn even after a year living here.) These boots are going to feature so often in my Fall Fashions, I just know it! I found them at the Blue Diamond Road Ross store for only $16.99. They’re 8.5 and I usually wear a size 7 or 7.5. But with thick hiking or thermal socks, they worked perfectly! I was a little unwilling to let them go because they were the only pair there. The zippered back makes slipping in and out of them so easy too! My only grief with them is that the soles are a little smooth and I did slip a little at the grocery store. Probably need to get something to increase traction before I wear them on slippery cold surfaces.
I like colours and I love them clashing or bold. Sometimes though, I like them matchy-matchy. I love that pinks and purples work for my skin tone (whatever that means LOL).
This is what I wore to go to Walgreens to collect my prescription and uhm.. buy toilet bowl cleaner from the 99c Only Store on Blue Diamond. So exciting, right? Hahahahaa…
So we went to watch Guardians of the Galaxy the other day and this is what I wore. It’s been pretty hot lately and even when the sun sets, it’s well over 40 Degree Celsius. No need for a cardigan or cover-up of any kind.
What I’m wearing:
Dress: Multi-coloured strapless maxi dress from THE ISLAND SHOP
Accessories: Hot pink baubles statement necklace from FOSSIL; Purple stretchy belt with gold buckle from RIVER ISLAND
Bag: Purple polka-dotted clutch from WISHFUL THINKING on etsy.com
Footwear: Red lacquer platform sandals from ZARA WOMEN
As you can tell, this is statement necklace is my Accessory Du Jour. It’s just so fun and easy to throw on almost everything I own. I got it at the FOSSIL outlet store at Fashion Outlets of Las Vegas in Primm Valley for only USD15 last year!
As you can tell, I love bright colours. I am making up for lost time since I spent most of my 20s in dark coloured clothes (and vertical stripes). Given that I spent 5 years as a school teacher, I felt like it was part of the job description that I dress more “sensibly” and less “flashy”. Needless to say, I wasted my youth pretending to be an old lady.
I’m going to be 40 in 4 years and even if age is just a number, damn Mother Nature and gravity doesn’t know that. I fear the day when I get too saggy to enjoy myself anymore… HAHHAHAHA!!! So the time is NOW! People, hear me. THE TIME IS NOW! Regardless of your insecurities. It WILL eventually go downhill and you don’t want to wait for that day to come before regretting everything you didn’t do.
Bottom: Mint swing skirt and Peach Meringue petticoat from DOMINO DOLLHOUSE
Accessories: Pink baubles statement necklace from FOSSIL; Pink bangle from SONIA RYKIEL POUR H&M; Black stretchy belt with double buckles from BCBGMAXAZRIA
I think this is the first outfit that is entirely purchased in the US. Some were bought online, some at regular stores, some at the outlet malls. The wristlet was a gift from my sister several years ago when she returned from living in New Hampshire.
I must say I’m not very fond of COACH bags because they tend to look like “old lady” things to me – not my style, you know? I also don’t like wristlets because they are usually tiny! This one however fits my iPhone, keys, a lipstick, compact powder, a coin pouch and card case. Enough for a night out!
Hey I’m back with the outfit posts. Hopefully I sustain this now that I’ve bought a tripod and no longer need T to help me take pictures. I love my new tripod – it’s easy to use, very sturdy and only USD19.95 (free shipping with Amazon Prime)! I use my Canon S90 with it and it works like a charm. I might try it again in a few days!
Today’s outfit is a dress I haven’t worn in ages! Can’t even remember the last time I wore it. I actually have 4 copies of this same cut. The original is a NEW LOOK dress and I hunted for ages for similar dresses before I decided to buy some fabric and get it copied at a local tailor back in Singapore.
Also, the shoes I’m wearing today have only been worn all of 2 times (once at our Viva Las Vegas wedding in October last year). I haven’t found any occasion to wear it ever since. But TAH DAH!
What I’m wearing today:
Dress: Green and Pink polka dot copy dress
Accessories: Gold weave pleather belt from H&M; Pink baubles statement necklace from FOSSIL
