First outfit post since I got back from Seattle. I finally got everything back in order. We had guests for 2 nights but I didn’t have a chance to wash the bedlinens or clean the guestroom until we got back from Seattle because they left our house a few hours before our flight. I usually unpack as soon as I can (within hours of getting home) because I imagine clothes and dirt festering in the suitacase… YITH! It took 2 loads of laundry but I’ve finally got all our Seattle clothes clean, folded and hung. Also cleaned the guestroom and put on fresh linens – T’s mom is coming to visit us in early October and I’m excited!
This is what I wore today when I went out to collect our prescriptions from Walgreens. Oldie but goodie!
What I’m wearing today:
Top: Indonesian band GOODNIGHT ELECTRIC t-shirt
Accessories: Black pleather belt with silver buckle from H&M
My pals Little and his wife Joanne are in town visiting me and this is what I wore to show them around the Las Vegas Strip yesterday – bright and cheery but still sensible for lots of walking! What do you think of my 1st fat-shionista post with the new hair? It’s all shaved and buzzed like a boy’s at the back and I coloured it red myself to save money!
What I’m wearing:
Top: Multi-coloured mosaic sleeveless top from H&M Divided
Outerwear: Sheer mustard yellow jacket from some small shop in FAREASTPLAZA
Accessories: Gold triangles earrings from FOREVER21; Natural bamboo weave bangle from THE ISLAND SHOP; Black distressed skinny leather belt from TOPSHOP
I guess the last 20 posts are probably good testament to the fact that imagination is key to maximising your wardrobe. How many times have you seen me wearing the same pair of shoes, the same jacket, the same pair of bottoms, the same top?
T and I share just 1 wardrobe. We take an equal amount of space with regards to apparel. I do have more accessories and bags but I don’t necessarily have a large winter collection since I came from the tropics. How I’ve been coping is just by layering when it gets colder.
I love switching things around and I don’t need everything to be matchy-matchy. Neither am I afraid of saying that I just don’t have the money to spend on expensive things. I’m okay with mixing and matching off-season bargains if I have to.
Will I shop differently if I have more disposable income – maybe, possibly? But my priorities right now is our nest egg and to be completely debt free before I’ll splurge on clothes, bags and shoes. You know, boring things like paying off our mortgage and servicing the car loan, also rebuilding our savings to a 6-month contingency level etc. We were wiped out when Max was stricken with cancer last year…
Anyway, the whole point of this blog is frivolity, so don’t take it too seriously and have fun with what you already own. (uhmm… and pay off your credit card debts monthly!)
What I’m wearing today:
Top: Orange frilled strappy tank top with blue stars from TOPSHOP
Outerwear: Lilac 3/4 sleeve jacket from H&M Divided
Accessories: Gold spikes and matte black skulls necklace from AYLISS DESIGN on eBay; Brown faux leather belt from STEVE MADDEN
So I’ve been asked why I’m always so happy in my pictures and I’m glad that people enjoy looking at me being all overtly jubilant because life can suck… You know? And nobody really wants to see a sullen picture of me. Some people have problems with their resting bitch face whereas I have a resting sad face. I actually look like I’m in pain when I’m not smiling. HAHAHA! Also, as I’ve mentioned before, wastedfashion is only a small part of my personal life. There are so many facets to it. (Just so you know, my husband forces me to read The Feeling Good Handbook…)
If there’s a secret or a tip behind taking crazy pictures like mine, it’s to play some music, dance (or sing) to it and take your photos early in the day before anyone can ruin your mood. Heh…
Onward with day uhmm… 4? 5? 6? of the unwashed denim shorts
What I’m wearing today:
Top: Navy My Melody top with back bow detail from UNIQLO X SANRIO
Outerwear: Red & blue plaid shirt from H&M L.O.G.G.
Accessories: Brown faux leather belt from STEVE MADDEN
I think by now you’d have figured what’s up. I haven’t changed or washed my shorts. I figured that if you can wear jeans for weeks without washing, denim shorts are essentially the same things except uhm… shorter. Let’s see how long I can go before I gross myself out. HAHAHA!!
Also, denim on denim is usually a no no but I reckon that a printed chambray (which is the lighter cousin of denim) with stars is not the exact same fabric, so it’s okay. What do you think?
What I’m wearing today:
Top: Blue chambray long-seelved blouse with star print from OLD NAVY
A few weeks ago, my friend Evelyn of The Bottomsup Blog asked over Facebook chat if I spend time planning my outfits or I naturally just know what goes with what. I don’t. I don’t really spend time picking things out and neither do I know what to wear. Sometimes I throw it together and it doesn’t look as I imagined but I just deal with it. Today’s outfit is somewhat like that. I’ll change out of something if I’m uncomfortable though. Other than that, it doesn’t bother me and that’s my style philosophy if one can call it that.
I wore this to get ice cream with T. We have a Cold Stone Creamery about a 10-minute drive from us and it’s in the same plaza as the supermarket I usually go to and it also excites me to say that it houses a 24hr Subway (though T was commenting about the dubious freshness of their bread at 3am).
What I’m wearing today:
Top: Black tee from Singapore Thrash-metal band Ossuary
