So life has gotten the better of me recently and I’m updating less here – which is a fantastic thing! After T’s Playstation Experience exhibition, I’ve been busy with my family coming over, then preparing for Christmas dinner and also getting ready for Christmas in general – writing Christmas cards, putting a list of gifts T wants to get for his family (most of them mailed out of state) etc.
But now, back to regular programming before I disappear again for the year end holidays…
OMG! How cute are my new shoes? Thank you, Le Bunny Bleu for my grey Maia Boat Shoes. Flats are great for me since I’m always pounding the pavement and on the move. I hardly have the opportunity to wear heels these days and they’re not exactly the most practical thing for a housewife who lives in the desert. Then again, while I don’t have a lot of shoes, I do not lack any cute ones either. Really happy to add these to my collection – cute colour and how sweet is their little bunny logo??
To be honest, my “uniform” of late has been leggings from OLD NAVY, jeans and jumpers. Most days I just want to stay home and hide under the blankets that T’s Grammy crocheted (we have 4 different ones lying around the house). You know, to stay warm. And then there’s the horrible desert dryness. I have lived most of my life in the seasonally homogenous tropical island of Singapore and then, I come here. The lack of humidity makes my hair behave but it also cracks my skin – literally, I get red welts on my body from the skin drying out and splitting. Mostly on my back because I don’t get enough lotion there.
Anyway, this brings me to my lack of outfit posts – because I’m still trying to get a hang of this climate even if I’ve been here for 1 1/2 years. I can’t figure out what to wear and how to wear what I own. And hence… the bag lady layers. So that’s my style for the next 4-6 months until the weather turns warmer in April. You’ll see lots of crazy layering because that’s how I’m going to make what I own work for me here.
What I’m wearing today:
Dress: Baby blue and white polka-dotted dress from FOREVER21
Outerwear: Mint green cardigan from OLD NAVY
Accessories: Pink/Blue wooden bead necklace from FOREVER21
Scarf: Purple knitted scarf with sequins from DELIA*S
This is basically my go-to travel outfit these days when I want to be girly but not impractically so. The 3/4 leggings are a god-send for walking (chub rub, you know) and I have 4 HELL BUNNY mini dresses that are so easy to just throw on. The funny thing about these leggings is that T loves them. He likes how they’re shiny and he touches them whenever I put them on. Some strange fetish perhaps? MWAHAHAHHA…
Another few more outfits before I hit #500! Ryd says I should do something special for it. He suggests wearing something different and taking pictures at the Botanics. But I feel it doesn’t represent this blog. My regular outfit posts are real clothes I wear to work (on most days) and it’s a literally WHAT I’M WEARING TODAY, no deliberate attempts to pretend it’s something it’s not. Also, no photoshop, no professional camera equipment. They’re usually “eh, you free for 3 minutes? Take my outfit photo please?”. I take photos and blog almost exclusively with my iPhone5. Maybe someday I’ll be all posey-posey and style myself in outfits that I’m not actually wearing on the day I take the photos… but not yet. What do you guys think? HEH!
Accessories: Mint green cord necklace from FONDA (at Far East Plaza)
Leggings: Grey pattern stockings from Vivienne Westwood (gift from Pearlyn)
Footwear: Brown Kandy Oxfords from Le Bunny Bleu (at Bugis+)
And those are Ryd’s Paul Smith kicks. If you like mine, they are retailing in Singapore at the Le Bunny Bleu shop in Bugis+ for SGD83 but ask for the wastedfashion discount and pay only SGD74.70!
As you can see, some days whatever I throw on works and on others, like today, it kinda bombed. I love my shoes and the leggings together. Maybe the necklace and t-shirt didn’t quite go with the skirt. Everyday’s a lesson to be learnt and that’s exactly what it is with me. I’m not sorry that I don’t put myself together everyday. It’s just what it is. I’ll try this look again with a few changes. Hrummmph…
What I’m wearing today:
Top: Black t-shirt from Singapore band The Karl Maka
Accessories: Black & grey mirrored acrylic necklace from THE BLACKGROUND (at Far East Plaza); Black Skull & Crossbones bow hairband from CLAIRE’S (I think)
Bottom: Grey hi-lo skirt from COTTON ON
Leggings: Mint opaque tights from UNIQLO
Footwear: Brown Kandy Oxfords from Le Bunny Bleu (at Bugis+)
This is a new top. I bought it yesterday and I haven’t washed it. I love it so much I had to wear it today! I know, I know… I’m supposed to be clearing my things and stop with the buying until my wardrobe is of acceptable size but I was weak. I went out shopping for gifts for T’s relatives and my friend Glenn’s birthday but I ended up spending about S$106 on myself. This top (S$24.90) and two necklaces from ACCESSORIZE (S$80.80). This just means that I’m gonna have to do another wardrobe clear out in the next few weeks. Heh… Give me 2 weeks to decide what I can part with… Heehee! I could definitely use some extra $$$
Anyway, I’ve been told that today’s get-up is quite unusual for me and I look more casual than on normal days. What can I say? I love this top a little too much to care! Also, it was raining when I left the house today!
What I’m wearing today:
Top: Light blue Little Twin Stars 3/4 jersey from UNIQLO x SANRIO
Accessories: Navy hair bow from a swop meet; Pink ear studs from GRER (gift from Felix); Black calculator watch from CASIO
Bottoms: Navy jeans from RIVER ISLAND
Footwear: Mint ARIEL ballet flats from Le Bunny Bleu
It’s Friday! The weeks are just zooming by so quickly! Where did the time go?? I know what I’m doing with my time today though! I’ve taken half the day off to hang out with my gal pals aka The SPArty Girls! We’re going to HOUSE @ Dempsey for their Vintage High Tea. I read a bunch of reviews and blog posts… TOTALLY SOLD! See here, here and here. I hope we have a lovely time later today. I might share some pictures in my next post… if I remember. There’s a possibility that I would get so distracted and greedy that I’ll totally forget to document the afternoon!
In other news, I am looking to revamp my blog after using free WordPress templates since Day 1. I have some ideas of what I want to have on it and the ideal layout but T hasn’t been able to get that going even though he tried. I’ve looked at some premade templates on Etsy that I liked but weren’t exactly what I have in mind. Also, many of the premade templates don’t work with my free wordpress account and I have to get a self-hosted one or works only on blogspot. I want a 3 column layout (2 sidebars) with a customized photo header that changes, and a clickable custom image link menu under that. Any ideas or suggestions? Some examples of what I like are THIS, THIS, THIS and THIS.
What I’m wearing today:
Top: Black bra tank top from UNIQLO
Bottom: Mint swing skirt and Peach Meringue petticoat from DOMINO DOLLHOUSE
Accessories: Stack of 4 plastic bangles from PRIMARK; Purple stretch belt (free with DOROTHY PERKINS dress); Orange polka-dotted hair bow from thestreetsofbangkok; Black & grey mirrored acrylic necklace from THE BLACKGROUND (at Far East Plaza)
Footwear: Brown Kandy Oxfords from Le Bunny Bleu (at Bugis+)
How cute are my shoes???!! I love love love them so much! Comfort and chic are the most important thing especially if you’re gonna be on your feet all day! There were 3 different colour combinations and I couldn’t decide which one so I picked the one I felt I could match with the most number of outfits. I wish I had them all! In fact, I want all the Le Bunny Bleu shoes I saw!! These KANDY OXFORDS are currently retailing for SGD83 but ask for the wastedfashion discount and pay only SGD74.70!

Bought 7 of the 25 gifts I’m supposed to get and I’ve started counting down to my holiday! In less than 45 days, I’ll be back in Las Vegas. Then T and I will be travelling over several weekends (because he still has to work) to visit friends and family in California, Arizona and New York. YIPPIEE!
Talking about New York, did you hear that LeBunny Bleu is now in Singapore? We don’t have to make the trek to their NYC headquarters anymore! There is a LeBunny Bleu shop at Bugis+ (the mall formerly known as Illuma) and is located at the bridge connecting Bugis+ to Parco Bugis Junction. I love LeBunny Bleu for their quirky spins on classics like flats, canvas slip-ons, loafers and oxfords. And because they are mostly sensible shoes instead of ridiculously high heels, they’re exactly in line with my desire for comfort and style. Also, how can you resist their adorable bunny logo? It’s on everything! You also get to sit on bunny chairs while trying out shoes in the store! Prices in Singapore are comparable to their US-based online store, ranging from SGD60 – 95. The benefit is that you get to touch and feel the shoes in person, as well as save on shipping charges!
The Ariel Ballet Flats I’m wearing today are retailing for SGD61 but ask for the wastedfashion discount and pay only SGD54.90!
Accessories: Blue cord Chinese knot necklace from FONDA (at Far East Plaza); Blue hairbow (from a swop meet); Black calculator watch from CASIO
Footwear: Mint (and orange) Ariel Ballet Flats from Le Bunny Bleu (at Bugis+, #02-54)
